Crow Vigor WIP

Description

A friend of mine commissioned a bottle of Crow Vigor from Bioshock Infinite. He saw the limited edition release of the vigor and started drooling (they're going for hundreds of dollars on eBay right now, yikes); so he asked me if I could make one for him. Here are some WIP pics. I'm always terrible about taking pictures of WIP so I don't have the first few stages depicted here but I'll break down my process below.

I used a plastic water bottle (FUZE peach tea to be exact, lol) as the base for the vigor. I wanted to make it functional so I kept the inside empty and made the head part removable. I wrapped it in a bit of aluminum foil to give myself a coarse surface to work on. The aluminum foil was also use to build up the shape of the vigor a little bit. I used some wires to give structure to things like the wing tips and the beak. Then, I added a layer of paper clay on top of the foil and started to fill in all of the ridges on the bottle. Next, I sculpted the feathers and attached them to the main body (front and back). I printed the Murder of Crow Vigor label and laminated it for the center. Then I built the circular design in the center. Next I sculpted the wings and adjusted some of the proportions around the head. I used a knife to carve in the details (which you can't see here because my phone's camera blows). Then came sanding. Lastly, I finished by sealing the Crow Vigor with a layer of acrylic paint, dry-brush on the gold, and spray a layer of matte acrylic spray.

If I worked on this back in the US instead of my tiny one room apartment in Korea I would've been able to do a lot more. I could probably make a silicon mold of this and cast it multiple times in resin to sell. As it stands, it doesn't look factory made like the original bottles but he ended up liking the handmade look so I suppose it all worked out.
